Last week I had the pleasure of being invited, as a representative of local government and a member of the committee on “International Cooperation, Operational Programmes and Non-Governmental Organisations”, to the forum “Opportunities for Young People in the Burgas Region”.

The forum is part of the project “Strategic Planning and Advocacy: Tools for More Effective Inclusion of NGOs in Decision-Making and Dialogue with Local Government”. Its partners are the “Far” Association and the Institute for Regional and International Studies.

In the final part of the forum, entitled “World Café”, the young people present had the opportunity to put together a list of proposals for improving sectors such as Culture and Education, Economy and the Labour Market, Ecology and Sport, and others.

Many of the proposals are quite sensible and feasible, and I am committed to doing everything possible to have them implemented as soon as possible.
