The Mayer Dimitar Nikolov awarded the best project ideas on the theme “Creation of Software Applications for Sports and Entertainment”
15 teams of 59 Burgas schoolboys, schoolgirls and students were competing in real time, in order to realize original prototypes of mobile applications for sports, fitness and outdoor physical activity as prevention in the fight against the stress and settled way of life of young people.
During the entire three-day period of the Hackathon, the participants counted on the help of the professional advice of both, their teachers and mentors, as well as the experts from ICT Cluster Burgas and personally by its chairman Petko Georgiev.
“I see enormous potential in the teams and the participants in Hackathon 2018 and I commit myself in developing their skills and knowledge with subsequent trainings, as well as possibilities for professional engagement”, said Petko Georgiev.
Software developments and the work of the teams were evaluated by an expert jury according to 5 criteria: originality of the idea, working functionality, quality of the programming code, user interface and potential of the application.
Organizer of Hackathon Burgas 2018 was “Professor Dr. Asen Zlatarov” University in partnership with the municipality of Burgas and many companies and organizations in the ICT sector. On behalf of the newest member of ICT Cluster Burgas – ICB Bulgaria, Petko Georgiev bestowed a special award to the team of Enigma 2.0 and their mobile application.
Tripartite memorandum was signed during the event for collaboration in the area of ICT between the municipality of Burgas, Industrial and Logistic Park – Burgas and the Bulgarian Association of Information Technologies /BAIT/.
