The Public Council will take care of the development of the IT sector and the outsourcing industry in Burgas, it became clear today at a session of the municipal councilors.

The report was submitted by Mayor Dimitar Nikolov, who is the initiator of the establishment of the public council.

„In recent years, Bulgaria has become the top European destination as a preferred outsourcing destination, and last year Burgas received a prize for the City with the greatest potential for development of the outsourcing industry by the Bulgarian Outsourcing Association“, Nikolov wrote in the report. The reasons for this are the many young people with appropriate education, the availability of office space, cultural life and a good urban environment for the creation of families and raising children. He recalled that currently the centers for outsourced and shared services in Bulgaria are looking for more and more workforce.

The public council will work on a voluntary basis and will be involved in preparing a strategic plan for the overall development of the IT sector of the outsourcing industry in Burgas and identifying a set of measures that will help attract investors to the city of Bourgas.

For IT outsourcing in Burgas, besides the interest of large international companies, the offered salary is particularly high. This sector accounts for the highest wages in Bulgaria – higher than traditionally strong sectors such as finance, energetics and mining industry.

By developing the IT sector and the outsourcing industry in the city, we will create conditions for an adequate and well-prepared staff base, working environment and opportunities for developing a sustainable IT business in Burgas. We believe that our city can meet the high requirements of the high-tech sector and even exceed it. And what better than the end result – intellectual product, very good pay, clean nature, good direction for development of Burgas and above all – young people stay in town!
